Grandmentors support young adults leaving care by sharing life experience, offering emotional support, practical advice and a steady presence. Aged 50 and over (or 35 and over in Scotland and Greenwich), our volunteers help build confidence and independence.
Coming from all walks of life, Grandmentors are trained to build positive, trusting relationships that empower young people to discover their strengths and reach their goals.
We provide full training, ongoing support and cover expenses. No special skills or qualifications are needed, just your life experience and a desire to make a difference.

Life after care can be full of choices and challenges. Grandmentors is here to support you as you figure out what comes next.
We’ll match you with a volunteer mentor, someone with life experience who is there just for you. They will listen, encourage you, and help you work towards your goals, whether that is work, education, confidence, independence, or something else entirely.
